I just upgraded my Ubuntu 9.04 "Jaunty Jackalope" install to Karmic Koala Beta via "update-manager -d". I kept my current menu.lst, which is the default option anyway, other than that I just waited for the process to finish.

Everything seems to work fine so far. Hassle-free dist-upgrade.
